Stan Reiss
General Partner and Qualtre Board Member

Stan joined Matrix Partners, one of the nation’s leading venture capitalist firms, in 2000 and has worked as a venture capitalist for nearly a decade. He had previously spent time helping technology companies refine their business strategies and operations in McKinsey & Company’s electronics practice, as well as developing Ethernet chips at National Semiconductor. Stan Reiss received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Cornell University, followed by two masters’ degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for electrical engineering and operations research, both of which focused on communications and networking. He also received an MBA from the Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar.

Stephen Van Beaver
General Partner and Qualtre Board Member

Stephen has broad experience in the technology industry as an entrepreneur, manager, active investor, and advisor for over twenty-five years. He has led hardware and software products, services companies, and divisions working across numerous areas including; engineering, operations, business development, sales, and marketing strategy. Prior to Pilot House Ventures, Stephen was co-founder and Senior Vice President of Operations for Road Runner LLC, the high-speed data joint venture between MediaOne (now Comcast), Time Warner, Compaq (now HP) and Microsoft. In this role, he grew numerous operational functions, as well as other areas of the business including deployment, program management, quality assurance, network engineering, customer care, and regional operations. Stephen also served as Vice President of Operations and Technology for MediaOne Internet Services, as well as for Continental Cablevision. Before joining Continental Cablevision, Stephen was General Manager of the AT&T Interchange Online Network division and held senior marketing and operations positions at Shiva and Index Technology. Stephen holds a Masters of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Hartford.
