Qualtré Adds Further Strength to Executive Team by Appointing Mark Laich as VP of Sales & Business Development

MARLBOROUGH, Massachusetts, March 12, 2012 -- Qualtré, the leading developer of next generation silicon MEMS inertial sensors, announced the appointment of Mark Laich to the position of Vice President of Sales and Business Development.  Mr. Laich brings twenty-seven years of experience in the areas of MEMS and semiconductor sales and marketing.  His expertise includes successful customer and market development in the areas of MEMS sensors, as well as consumer and telecom IC’s.  He will be responsible for all aspects of Qualtre's customer and partner development process as the company launches its latest iteration of innovative solutions for the inertial sensing market.

Prior to joining Qualtré, Mr. Laich served as Vice President of Component Sales and Marketing at MEMSIC, a leading provider of accelerometers and magnetic sensors for the consumer, automotive and industrial market.  Mr. Laich was responsible for making MEMSIC one of the fastest growing semiconductor companies during the last three years by leading MEMSIC's business development with top tier mobile handset customers.  He also led the successful launch of MEMSIC's magnetic sensor product family - driving unit volume sales from zero to millions of units per month in two years and capturing significant marketshare within the high volume mobile segment.   Mr. Laich has a long track record of leading successful sales campaigns and developing business at major accounts like Samsung, Philips, Thomson, Cisco, Alcatel, Siemens, and Compaq.  Prior to MEMSIC, he held various roles in sales management and marketing at established semiconductor companies including as AMD, LG, and Zilog, as well as several start-up semiconductor companies such as Lexra, Azanda, and Potentia.
